There was a huge Google Core Update this past week, supposedly the biggest since HCU. It’s gonna be real interesting to see if this gives sites that were hit previously a boost.

Currently affiliate sites are as dead as a can of spam. I’ve worked with several companies recently who have said their affiliates sales have hit the dirt. Affiliate traffic is the lowest it’s been in a long time and I’m really hoping that Google can sort themselves out and give affiliates some much needed love.

This is without mentioning that Perplexity (and now SearchGPT) are breathing down their necks. Go ahead and try if you haven’t. No ads, no Reddit at the top of every result, niche sites back in the rankings - these platforms are a pleasure to use and the little guy/gal can still win.

Of course, Google is still far ahead in market share and we all saw that even with huge backing, Bing didn’t do as much as expected. Will Perplexity learn from this and go for the jugular?
